Solution Launchpad - support for Custom Fields


This document outlines what is included when a custom field is installed from one app to another, using Solution Launchpad.

What’s included?

The following data is included when installing a custom contact or company field:

  • Field Label

  • API Field Name

  • Field Type

  • “Always shown” checkbox

All field types are supported, as long as the destination app edition supports the same type.


Behavior notes

  • When installing a custom field, if the destination app already contains a custom field with the same field type and API field name, then the custom field will not be installed again.
    • Subsequent installations of the same field do not update the field in the destination, even if something has changed.
  • Any items you are installing which reference the custom field will be updated to reference the existing field in the destination app.
  • Custom fields have a limit - installs that would push the app beyond its custom field limit will fail. See more.
